New Hampshire Pharmacy Technician Certification Requirements

New Hampshire has a strict process that you must undergo before you can become a certified pharmacy technician. The rules and regulations that govern this industry are overseen by the Board of Pharmacy which is an agency within the New Hampshire Office of Professional Licensure and Certification.

Keep the following requirements in mind when pursuing a career as a pharmacy technician in New Hampshire:

  • You have to be at least 18 years of age or older
  • You must be either a high school graduate, have a GED, or be currently in the process of attaining one or the other
  • You should not have any convictions for misdemeanors or felonies — especially those related to drugs of any sort
  • You need to submit a written application to the State Board of Pharmacy requesting that you be registered as a pharmacy tech
  • You must include $25 as payment for the registration fee
  • You need to complete a training program that is supervised by the pharmacist who is in charge

It is important to note that the processing time for a pharmacy tech application is about 14 business days. While there is no requirement for continuing education (CE) for a pharmacy technician, your license must be renewed each year. There is a $25 fee for this renewal process.

According to the BLS, the median pay for a pharmacy tech across the United States was $33,950 per year. For those pharmacy technicians that get paid hourly, the median pay was $16.32.
